Hello All & Which is it?

Hey all, New Member -- First Post

- I recently purchased a 2010 Maxima & I like it.
But I need to know if it is a "S" or a "SV"

I do not have.....

1. Paddle Shifters
2. Heated Seats
3. Memory Seats
4. Navigation
5. The Rear Passenger Tech Controlling Arm rest

I have no doubt, I would like it a lot more if it had those toys.
But like I said, It is still a cool car.

So I ask ... Can I assume it is a "S"

I do have ....

1. Leather Seats
2. Turn Signal Rear View Mirrors
3. A kinda ugly orange display screen

"S" or Nah ????

I would say you have the S as all SV's have paddle shifters.

Welcome to the board.

No s model has turn signal mirrors or leather from the factory, so it seems the previous owner had these options installed.

I did not know about the paddle shifters as standard for the SV but -- it was the Leather seats and Turn Signals that had me on the fence.

I suppose the previous owner did have them added.

I still like the car and I appreciate the input.

I am sure as time goes on and I have other questions -- this forum will be a great asset.

I think I have a 2011 SV with no paddle shifters. It's got fog lights and turning signals on the door mirrors.

There are a few more mix n match trim packages available now but in 2010 this was not the case. With that in mind, I'd say you have an S model with a few extra goodies added on by the previous owner(s).

Welcome to the forum!!

Not all SV's have paddle shifters, you must have the sport or premium package to get those. To the OP you most likely have an SV model with no additional packages. I say this because you have leather, turn signal indicators in the mirror and I assume BOSE stereo.

Welcome!

I do have the Bose Stereo ( At least I believe I do )

I still am unsure as to which Trim I have -- I guess in the end it does not really matter. But I was just looking for a bit of clarity.

Sounds like there were quite a few different package options under the SV umbrella

Heated seats come standard with leather from the factory, are u sure you don't have heated button above the shifter? Your statement of not having heated seats is throwing me off otherwise I'd say you have an sv model

Yea -- No heated seats.

I am ok with it being an "S" model.

It does not have all the accoutrements so the letter is not a huge deal.

In hindsight I would have of course preferred all the extra goodies but without them, I will survive.

It is still faster than the Audi I am replacing.

Thanks for all the insight.

You should join the 7th Gen Facebook group, too. The forums aren't nearly as active as the FB group is. https://www.facebook.com/groups/7thgenmax/

Not all SV's have heated seats. On non-sport and non-premium SV models you must have the cold weather package to get the headed seats and steering wheel. The easiest way to tell if you have the BOSE stereo is to look at the sub-woofer covers right under the rear windshield, they will have BOSE logo's on them if you have the BOSE system. If you have the BOSE stereo you definitely have an SV model.

Do you mind showing me one of our cars with leather from the factory and no heated seats? I've never seen one

Not all SV's have heated seats. It's not standard with leather at all. Heated seats is part of the SV Value package.

I have a 2010 SV base model. It has leather, turn signals in the mirrors, Bose, fog lights, and a spoiler. No heated seats or paddle shifters...

Sure, I found two below on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Maxima-4dr-Sedan-V6-CVT-3-5-SV-/181737148196?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2a5060cf24&item=181737148196

Hopefully those links work. SV's without heated seats is definitely a rare combination because when the monitor, tech, sport, or premium packages are added the heated seats and steering wheel (cold weather package) was added automatically. SV's without those packages could add the cold weather package I believe for around $400 for the 2009-2013 models. They redid the packages for the 2014 model year.

You didn't mention anything about the sunroof that's how I used to always determine whether they are s or sv I thought that all SV's have a panoramic sunroof.. And the way I determine whether you have the sport package is by the wheels and the rear spoiler. If you have 19" wheels and a spoiler then you have the sport package. Mine doesn't have letters on it but it has to be the SV without the sport package cause it has navigation backup camera heated leather seats panoramic sunroof paddle shifters fog lights 18" wheels and no spoiler.

I have a 2010 SV base model. It has leather, turn signals in the mirrors, Bose, fog lights, and a spoiler. No heated seats or paddle shifters.

--- Those are exactly the features that I have.

Ok -- So I have an SV base model

Another way to tell is according to Nissan's 2010 equipment features and options available sheet is the "S" has 8 speakers and the "SV" has 9 speakers.

That's pretty cheap on nissans part, I think I figured it was standard since I had heated seats on my 09 altima sl base

I agree, The msrp on the base sv in 2010 was around $34k. No heated seats or mirrors on a car at that price point is ridiculous. Not to mention the crappy bose radio, cheesy amber display, no reverse warning or backup camera. My older Altima 3.5 was better equipped at a much lower price point...
