2011 SV with a Bi-Polar Personality

Hey guys, So Im trying to figure out what the heck is the deal with the power delivery on my 7th gen 2011 SV. Its got 52K on the clock and I have had it about 3 weeks now. Sometimes I hit the gas and it has mad power and loads of torque, other times (during the same drive) it has no torque at all. The engine revs up but it feels like I lost 100hp and its not pulling like it was 5 mins earlier. It will do this several times on any given drive. I don't think its the motor itself as I dont hear a misfire of pinging or bogging down. If I had to guess, its the crappy CVT robbing power. But with it being intermittent I just dont know. Anyone have this happen or have a guess at to what causes this?

TIA

I've only had my 7th gen about 3 months but also notice power delivery doesn't appear to always be the same. However only in the pre 40 mph range. Is that where you notice it? I found that if I push the pedal all the way to the end, there is an extra stiff section at the end of the pedal (similar to a transmission kick down switch) and if I push it into that section (like another 1/4") it usually overcomes the lazy throttle response. Got to do my research on that - probably makes no sense the way I described it as we definitely don't have a kick down switch.

Yeah...it is the transmission. More specifically the torque converter. With steady, even, flat roadway and gentle accel, thentorque converter locks up at around 11-15mph. Revs stay lower and you feel more of the lowend torque (because the VQ has plenty).

However, my 2010 does the same thing sometimes. Getting onto interstate at my exit, slight up hill incline and it never fails...I just barely tap the accel pedal, revs bounce up to 4000 rpm and sit there. Let off accel and revs start to fall, then tap the accel again and revs pop back up to 4500 or 5000. And acceleration is not that good. It is because the torque converter is unlocked....no idea why it does it sometimes and not others.

I will tell you...when its acting like that is a real good time to punch it to the floor. It will really surprise you how fast it will take off. Oddly it just doesnt do the trick for part throttle accel.
