Eh...how many miles you got on the clock? My 2010 has 147,000 and I have never replaced mine. As long as you have always used a good quality synthetic oil, it should be fine. Regular dino oil...I would replace every 60k mi because if they get crudded up they stop working as well.

But the PCV valve is in the rear valve cover. If you look at ignition coil from psngr side of engine, valve is directly behind it. Kind of beneath intake manifold. Hose connects it to manifold above.

Honestly, i would test it first. The little black box attached to the air hose just before the throttle body...grab the big hose leading from the box to the front valve cover and pinch it off with engine idling. You should hear the valve click and engine idle speed will lag for a moment. If it passes the test, the PCV valve is working.

You can also remove the air hose and see if there is a lot of oil getting into the intake through where said little black box attaches. Some is normal. If its excessive, replace. If not, its fine.

I just noticed that the dealer recommended replacing it on the receipt. I guess I need to shake it to determine from what I found online. Thanks for the help! If anyone can post a pic that would be great!

Yes...if you want to go through the trouble of removing it, then shaking it to ensure it rattles and the valve isnt frozen is also a way to checkmit. If youre gonna go that far then just replace it. Its less than $10 available at most major autoparts stores.
