Who Copied Who?
Since I picked up my Maxima a few weeks ago I'm seeing more and more cars that look like mine from the side view because of the dog-leg shape of the rear quarter window that the Maxima has had since the late '80's.
Which was a copy of the BMW's......
Now I see these.....
VW Passat....
Honda Accord.....
Buick LaCrosse.....
Chevy Impala.....
And numerous others, not counting the Altima's.
And, of course the original "dog-legger" new BMW.....

Giving too much credit to Nissan here... a lot of designers take on cues from the windows line because --- well, what else can you work with? The window line of most cars are meant to be a style cue, but primarily serve as a backbone in structure rigidity of the A-, B-, and C-pillar of the car in rollover situations. With the increase of the C-pillar size, this creates a massive blindspot in a lot of the cars you listed. Did Nissan pioneer that blindspot, too?
