Since new anytime I connect my android or one of the kids iPhone 5's to my AUX port to listen to say Pandora from our mobile devices, the sound is muddy and the signal is horrible. I tried a few cables and the same thing occurs. Am I missing something? I have the non nav unit. Is it possible the headunit is defective? I would have assumed I could simply connect my phone and stream music through this port???

Your vehicle is still under warranty. Take it to the dealer and let them try it out themselves with you present to show the issue if the issue still persists even with different 3.5mm cables.

Ya aux sound quality should be pretty crisp, I don't know if it makes a difference but I once used a name brand 3ft cable and it didn't sound good at all. I had a no name 1.5ft cable laying around left over from something that I use now and the sound is perfect. As stated try a different cable, and if that fails bring it to the dealer and let them deal with it, don't leave until they make it right
Also on my iPhone 6 I keep the volume about 2 notches down from full volume, that gives me the best quality

I am honestly an idiot. So I used 2-3 cheap cables I had laying around here and they all did te same thing. I even had a buddy with an identical car and tried in his with my cables and phone same thing. I thought no way 2 are bad. I then did it with his iphone 5 and same thing. I thought these cables cant all be bad. They work in other applications just fine. So I say screw it and order a gold monoprice cable from ebay for $6. It came in and guess what, the stereo sounds better with my phone then with CD's or the radio LOL.
IT WAS THE DAMN CORDS.

Ya those cables are hit or miss, you'd think something so simple there wouldn't be much to it for a flaw. Good thing everything worked out for youOriginally Posted by teddyca

Does either of your phones have any sort of equalizer to adjust the sound itself? How about adjusting the bass/treble? Does that help at all?
