Front passenger full range speaker not working!

Hey people, has anyone had a problem with their speakers going out, particularly the front? How do you replace the corner ones? I found the speakers online, but no info on how to replace them? I'd hate to think that the dash would need to be removed to get to a speaker or how much that may cost! Any insight would be greatfully appreciated.

They are pretty easy to get to. Pull off the A-pillar covers, then you pull the grills off. The A-pillar covers hold them down in the corners. After that the speakers are accessible.

Just get a set of coaxials....they will be cheaper than the OEM drivers & will sound better.

You need to make sure the speakers have the same impedance, or ohm rating.

Factory is 2 ohm...In the past JBL & Infinity made 2 ohm drivers. Some of their newer speakers are 3 ohms & they will work out fine. I actually ran a set of 4 ohm Boston coaxials for a while.

Higher impedance will usually work, just a lot quieter.
Bose has been known to only function with 1 or 2 ohm.

So there shouldn't be an issue with removing the A-Pillar covers? Ok I'll give it a shot.

Yup...efficiency also plays a role as well. I recently switched out the Audison Voce 3.0 mids I had for set of Vifa's. There was a very noticeable difference in volume as the Voces are more efficient. They are both 4 ohm drivers.

Nope...I've done it many times. Pull the rubber molding off from the door opening edge near the pillars. This will allow you to get your fingers on the edge of the pillar & just pull towards the inside of the car, they will pop out. After you get it loose, just pull up towards you. After that, just pull on the grills & they will come off. There is s little blue thing on the pillar cover, just push it back into the cover before reinstalling it.

Also, you may want to reinstall the rubber moulding while you are working so that it doesn't get in your way & pull it off before putting the pillar covers back on.
