Still tweaking my sound system
I have been having trouble with a little unwanted noise ever since I swapped my cheap Soundstream amp for an American Bass VFL 150.4. I wanted the AB for the extra power as well as to match my sub amp. I RMA'd the amp once and the second one still had a high pitched noise that drove me insane. So I bucked up and bought a JL HD 600.4 as well as sound deadening in my trunk and front doors. It FINALLY sounds like a system worth the 4k+ I have in it. Even with the the cheaper kicker door speakers. This winter I will probably switch them for JL C5 component speakers, at least up front.

It's nice when you finally get the system dialed in. I finally got there once I bought my DSP.
I would suggest adding some MLV & CCF to your doors when you switch out your speakers.

MLV - Mass Loaded Vinyl
CCF - Closed Cell Foam
Both aid in blocking/reducing noise that deadener alone can't.

What is the model number that you are running? I've heard good things about their Flax series. There are actually many drivers that sound very good. Part of making a driver sound good though is the installation. Properly treating the doors goes a long way.
