Dvd bypass with navigation

I just got thru reading a bunch of threads but most consist of 09-11 maximas, before I start tearing the dash apart I have a few questions. Correct me if Im wrong:
Parking brake wire: pink/white
Vss wire: green/white

Ground parking brake wire and add toggle switch for the vss wire? Is this correct?

If this is going to turn into a project or mess something up with the navigation I won't even attempt it, some feedback is greatly appreciated

And last the car in question is a 2014 sv with navigation and tech package

It will not function correctly as the car "will not" be moving. You will be able to actually input new directions. Very handy when you have a passenger that can input the information. Then switch it back & you're good to go.

Thank you sir, seems simple enough. kindve stupid that the brake needs to be engaged to watch something or you need to pull over to input for gps. I know it's against the law but one solution maybe in the future would be to input a sensor into the passengers seat like the air bag sensor.....letting the system know someone else can input selections etc

Far fetched but an idea

Tommy, set aside a few hours to do it. Because of my bad eyes I had a hard time trying to find the right wire with the purple stripe. Due to that it took me about 5 hrs. But it was well worth it. When I take my nieces and nephew's to Sonic we watch a movie while we eat.

Sure thing

Yeah, having a sensor on the passenger's seat would be nice. Why should you have to pull over when a passenger can input the address.

Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like once working? Can you plug an external hard drive into the USB port to stream movies?

I dont have GPS but have the color screen and inputs, I technically wouldn't require the switch correct, only part that stops working is the MPG sensors correct but other than that Im good? 2012 SV no nav/no bose
