I am a new member, and new owner of a 2011 Maxima SV. I have had it a little over a week, and am enjoying everything about it. I just love it! My phone connected easily, my i Pod classic connected great through the usb port, and had no issues. Today, however when I switch to the i pod it recognizes it, then displays "Reading File" and doesn't change. Have tried a different usb cord, reconnecting, and the same thing. Does anyone know why this would happen seemingly out of the blue?

 

try restarting the ipod, hold the menu button and center button from more than 5 seconds. Then try to reconnect.

But I can tell you you must use the genuine apple cord or the ipod will not feed through to the car correctly. Been down that road. Just do what was said above and always roll with the genuine apple connection to eliminate headaches.
