Wiring DRLs on 13 Maxima

Hey guys,

Although I've done other modifications to the body, I've never done any wiring.. so I guess I just need a walk through on how to make sure im doing this right. Im trying to install LED daytime running lights. I just don't want to mess anything up. Besides the actual lights, what do I need? relay, switch, harness? and specifically what kind..

Thanks!

Depends on how you want to wire it really.
Option 1: use an add a fuse in the windshield motor fuse under the hood and then run a switch into the car for independent control of the drl and not having any other lights on if desired

Option 2: do the same as option 1 but Use a wireless box with remote so no need to run wires inside for independent control of the drl and not having any other lights on if desired

Option 3: splice into the park light wires so they run with them, so they only run with the park light

Another option would be to have them on at all times the car is on.

don't you want them off when the headlights turn on though? I turn my lights on even during the day -- and fogs -- I just like being more visible.

Do you just add a fuse to that area? 'windshield motor'? And how does the switch connect to just that fuse? That's what has me confused. I'd imagine the switch has a line to the fuse and a line to the battery? And the drl would have a line to switch and line to battery?

Wouldn't add-a-circuit be the best way? and tap into something that turns off in drive ie parking brakes?

The safest route that will turn on and off with the car is to use an add-afuse with a 15A fuse tapped into the fuel pump through the engine bay fuse box.

What is the proper name for this 'add-afuse' and can it be purchased at an autozone? I've never messed with wiring before so please excuse my stupidity. So when I buy a set of DRL's, I just hook them up to the 'add-afuse' add the extra fuse and that's it?

I have switchbacks and I just spliced them into my Park lights for the drl and the turn signal for the switchback function

Add a fuse...Add a circuit....Same thing..

Here is a link to one. Make sure u get the micro fuse as that is what the maxima uses:
