hit a racoon, leaking water

Dinged my plate up. The under engine cover pretty much fell off, and I'm leaking water from the passenger side . Any ideas what it could be from? And the severity of my situation?

My suicidal raccoon was a big one so he took the bumper, passenger fog light and inner well from my passenger side so I feel your pain.

Are you certain it is coolant and not just the drain for the AC? It would seem you hit it pretty much in the middle so If it is coolant, would suspect hose and possibly radiator, but my first guess, if the water is clear is AC drain.

The engine cover was pretty inexpensive....around 25.

Best of luck.

Never said it was coolant, in fact I had it in my garage and pulled out. It was just a small puddle of water. Left it on the road and checked it a couple of hours later. The dripping stopped but there was another puddle.

Puddle of water is from the AC Drain, and happens all the time when AC is running.

Then you should be fine. The only source of water in a properly maintained vehicle is the AC.

Sounds like you got lucky! Hitting a raccoon is like hitting a 30# cement block. I have done it twice, once in my '99 Cougar, it took out the front bumper and radiator, $2500 in damage. Then I hit one in an '02 Focus, another 2k+ bill. Both times at highway speed, they are nasty to hit!

Lucky I'm not sure about that. It did start leaking water from my rad too. Had to take it in. Fingers are crossed.
