High pitch sound (AC on, around 2300RPM)
I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this one or direct me how to find a solution. I've done searches but couldn't find anything substantial, but I apologize if I missed it.
I have a 2014 Nissan Maxima (Sport) bought in July 2014. The car makes a high pitch sound, almost like your ear is ringing, when the a/c is on and I hold the car steady at an RPM between 2300 and 3000. I can replicate the sound best around 2300 RPM. The sound lasts for a few seconds at a time. I can extend the length of time by holding the RPM steady, but I can make it stop immediately by either 1) turning off the a/c or 2) moving the accelerator to the alter the RPM. It makes the sound with the radio on or off. It only makes the sound when the car is moving. The car made the sound since I took ownership, but it seems to have gotten more consistent and possibly louder.
I took the car to one dealership and they could hear the sound, but basically blew me off. Then I took it to the dealership where I bought the car and they seem more interested in trying to figure it out. I left the car there for 2 days and they could hear the sound, but couldn't find the cause. They said they are waiting to hear back from Nissan Tech about the issue and will follow up with me then.
Does anyone else experience this or have any insight? The sound is very annoying and bothers my ears. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
