Hey guys straight to the point:

I would like some guidance, 101'000k - 2012

-Did the Alignment 4 point saw my tires in the back were a little feathered
-Had all 4 winter tires balanced, including the front 2 re-balanced at dealer
-Wheel bearing on passenger side replaced and installed // After replacing it, stethoscope didn't sound any different (passenger-new & drivers-old)
-Checked all the rods, links, joints
-Put it up on a hoist and let the tires spin in D (no gas) seeing about 7.5mm(0.3") of radial movement (up and down) nothing side to side. // Both passenger and drivers do this.
-Not sure if my summers did this // Replaced passenger bearing after swapping them over. So cant 'compare'
-Winter steel wheels were brand new when bought, winter tires are used -- but are a set
-Could it be an axel/drive shaft?
-Haven't replaced or looked at struts -- but they look and feel okay. still make that PSSSSHHT sound.

Any troubleshooting I can do to find out why at 100km - 120km -- The pavement is not snowy and just wet at this time of year -- so yes I realize I put them on too early... But is it really the tires just are not designed to go over 120km? They are iPike Hankook's not NEXEN and the official rating is H... which is 160km I believe.

Can someone help me out?

 

Vibrations are typically tire balance, bent rim, out-of-round tire, or bent axle.

I've noticed over the years that maximas are very sensitive to vibrations. Most of the issues i've had have gone away with new tires.

You could try to get them balanced with a hunter road force balancer which normally works pretty well to counteract slight out of roundness. You can locate a shop that has one of these here: http://www.gsp9700.com/search/findgsp9700.cfm

You noted that you saw 0.3" of up and down movement on the wheel. Could you tell if it was the rim or the tire causing the movement? Was the axle moving up and down or just the wheel?

Yea the dealer (nissan) had the road force and the two front tires were balanced using the machine...

It was not the rims and they were brand new.

The axle at the boot was level level level then hop, then level level level hop. As the tires rotated -- bought the car second hand god knows what made him sell the car -- but what I can say is the movement on both of the axles was very similiar.

 

So Mike, were axles the problem?
How's the vibration?
The Hunter machine is BS unless it's used properly, and you never know if it is. Almost no one will give you a print out of the before/after condition because even they don't feel confident.

 

Vibration is still there... I keep checking the arm, rods, and axle and everything seems fine. I might change the bearing on the other side as well.

But I do know that since I did put on these winter tires it got worse, and the steering is a pain with winters on too... gonna check my PS Fluid. We have had a mild winter and I cant stand wearing down my winters all because it might snow tomorrow... We are well into February now...

Again not having a hoist super sucks...

 

For my vibration at highway speeds it was the Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires that came on the car. They replaced the front 2 and it went away for a bit and now it's back. Those tires are just garbage.

 

New tires mask vibrations very effectively. Kriis you may have isolated where to focus your search for the vibration. I am a huge fan of road force balancing Mike and Kriis.
I know this sucks, I had a vibration for 115K miles on a VW and buckets of money later I gave up.
3 wheel bearings, 2 rims, 2 axles, 3 sets of tires, roadforce balancing, and a pendulum mount.
