Proper way to lower the Maxima

Is just throwing Eibach springs on a good way to lower the car or should i be replacing more and doing Eibach springs is a workaround?

Eibachs are the standard, along with an upgraded rear sway bar.
Your shocks will blow sooner though, probably around 50k miles after springs. That isn't full blown bouncing ride, just not near as controlled as it should be.

If you want to go all out, then coil overs set to the ride height you want and the damping and preload properly set is the total package.

i might as well replace the struts while I'm in there then, Any recommendations?

I definitely can't do coilers right now, i just spent a fortune on this car to add on stuff, lol

I've had Eibachs on a 5th gen and a 6th gen. I immediately did not like the ride on my 7th gen. The shocks are horrible. My Eibachs were put on with 40k on the shocks FWIW.

I lowered on BC racing coilovers and I'm loving it, for a boat of a car it handles very very well but it's a very bouncy ride might need to play around with the dampening abit to find the perfect street driving stiffness

I was debating the coilovers but i know they need to be "maintained" and there is no way i will do that, i know myself, lol

Honestly if you just put copper anti seize all over it they should stay pretty mint and maintenance is usually every 2 or 3 years in my opinion which isn't much work just make sure there properly lubricated. Right now I'm looking at my tires tucked into my fenders and I'm in love! Lol

Did it get better with new struts and shocks? I've got a set of Eibachs sitting in the box waiting to be put on, but I've got less than 40k miles.

I did eibachs the. The rar sway bar.
I was much happier with OEM vs Eibach.
Then I added the RL rear sway, and that combo is better than OEM.

What didn't you like about the ride on the 7th gen after you put the Eibachs on? I think 7th gens looks so much better when they've been dropped a bit, but I hesitate because one of the reasons I really like my 7th gen is the comfortable ride.

It seems the front struts are so poorly dampened you feel the front end moving around much more than the rear. There definitely is an unbalanced feel. It reminds me on my '12 Honda Fit that had all the weight on the front axle.

My 5th gen and 6th gen did not have this issue when I lowered them. I'm sure a better strut would fix it but all I am aware of are stock replacements.

I am at 66k now and still have not replaced the struts. I will have to get to it but would prefer a more quality replacement if I'm going to do it.

I am thinking about installing the sport package shocks and struts when I put mine on. I have the Stillen rear sway bar that I will be installing at the same time. I am not expecting sports car handling from a car of this size, primarily I want to reduce the wheel gap, improve the handling somewhat, all without sacrificing the ride quality. Is it really bumpy with the Eibachs on stock shocks and struts?

Sport package shocks and struts are the same as the premium. Only the springs are different from what I remember.
The ride wasn't bumpy at all on eibachs.
The rear sway makes a much bigger improvement on ride quality and feel than the springs.

The ride is not horrible, it is tolerable. Put it this way, I would rather deal with the way my car rides now with 20's, an RSB and Eibachs on stock $hitty shocks than go stock any day. I will say having a road racing background I cant stand the ****ty shocks. :-) Many people may be fine with it.

In all honesty, the Maxima is far from a 4 door sports car, and I know that. I'm not expecting a corner carver after the Eibachs, I have another car that will embarrass the Maxima on a road course or the twisties. Basically, I don't want the car to ride like total crap after lowering just for the cosmetic aspect.

My oem shocks/struts are going bad now around 62000 miles. These things are garbage, rebound control is lacking seriously. I wish we had more options. Options are OEM, Sachs, Monroe and kyb rear shocks. None are sport inspiring.
