Rocking Front Driver Seat

I bought a used 09 Maxima and didnt notice it test driving it but now about 2 weeks later I notice it a lot and I see all over the place like 6 years ago that it was a big issue with people exchanging seats almost half a dozen times. any fixes available for a used car with only a powertrain warranty? Or do I need to just get used to it?

Just get used to it. My 09 has done it for what seems like forever. It's a design flaw that nissan has refused to fix. If you're a larger person and have your seat back reclined while driving it will at some point begin to rock. Gotta love Nissan!!

You can hold the steering wheel and push/pull on the steering wheel to get the seat to rock. Try telling the service department that and see if that gets you anywhere. I've had those service department guys look me in the eye and say its normal.

There is a method of crushing a block of wood at the rear of the seat, it puts the frame of seat in torque = no flexing. Redneck solution, but if you paint the wood black before installation...or wrap it in carbon fibre first...well then it looks more 'tuner.

I have never seen the 2x4 method in a picture, if someone is willing to show me a picture I would love to see it... I tried it an it didn't really resolve the rock.

I've also read recently of someone folding up a towel and sliding it between the seat and center console as tight a fit and fold as you can. Maybe not the most aesthetically pleasing but may work.

Why wouldn't you share this amazing invention with the rest of us huh?

Can someone block new posters from posting links until 10 or something?

Gee Mikegay, sorry you don't like my website. Why don't I share? because I am an American citizen that believes in Capitalism and the spirit of business that's why. I have came up with a repair because I took the time to remove, disassemble and figure out how to solve the problem for the issue that, from the looks of it, several thousand Maxima owners are suffering from for a little over $20 bucks delivered. My "sketchy" website is simple and to the point and I ONLY use Paypal so that it PROTECTS the BUYER. In closing I say this....Can someone please block a$$holes that have nothing better to do than bash other peoples attempts at an honest living? P.S. Mike....Patent Pending not that that matters to you.

Really dude?

Oh please Mr Maxima seat fix. Can you tell me what patent pending registration number its under. It's simple and to the point but shows nothing. Don't get me wrong man. I have many friends with muranos, maxima's and the like.... plagued with the seat fix. The website sells me nothing but hope for a product. PayPal only protects the buyer in the case of a product not received. You could me a thank you for you donation card and it would be over board.

Unless he is a registers vendor, the user name will be shut down anyway for selling fake crap.

Ugh...ok guys I guess we are all 7 years old here....for you actual maxima owners with an actual problem with your seat rocking, please visit maximaseatfix.com, I have an actual, real, tangible part that will fix the seat rock for about 20 bucks. It has a provisional patent and it works. If you want to try it, great. If not, no problem. Frankly I have more important things to do than argue with Mikekay. Peace out.

You are so mature man. Thanks for providing the patent pending number you've proven us all wrong. Real tangible part is awesome except no one has seen it. And it's not out yet. Also you only have 4 posts on all the forums I've seen you post. I guess if it's a true fix I'll wait until it comes out and buy it then

Flattening the seat down as far as it goes solved the problem for me. I actually like the seat in that position so I am happy.

As for the guys fix, it would make all the sense in the world that there is a small bracket or part that fixes this issue. It just comes down to who takes the $20 chance and comes back to review it here.

I've seen the bracket but it has to be welded in whatever fix dude has is great and all -- but it kind of alters the seat and could be blamed on me, I am going to spot weld my seat which is the real fix because I'm pretty sure there is movement in the front rail rivets

Maxima Driver seat issue

Thanks for everyone posting on this subject. And shame on Nissan for not addressing it.
IHA 2012 Maxima bought in 2015 with 4K miles. It was a dealer lot car and never titled. Had the seat track replaced at the dealer while still under warranty at 6,800 miles in May 2015. Fixed for a while but rocking again. At $1500 for a new track, it's not worth the money to fix. Just bothers me that a car with so few miles has this type of problem and the factory not standing behind the product.
