Sport Mode

So I am new to sport mode, My last Maxima was a 2002 I loved it. I noticed that if I hit the gas in regular drive its ok then if I use the paddle shifters its better, But is it me of my butt dyno when I put it in sport mode its pretty darn quick! Is there a timing bump and or a transmission stiffer shift or am I just crazy

You'll hear from everyone regarding this. Enjoy it before people jump in and tell you to leave it in drive as it is faster...but screw them if you like it. I'll use paddles to engine retard in traffic and sometimes I use the sport to increase and hold revs. No throttle mapping or shift point changes from sport just tries to emulate a regular auto. Enjoy and congrats on your new ride.

Yeah, just enjoy it if that's how you like to drive it.

- Ds (Drive Sport) mode - Move the shift selector over from D (Drive) to the left into the manual shift gate. The position indicator in the meter shows a Ds. In Ds (Drive Sport) mode, transmission operation changes to 9Sporty driving shift operation, creating a more aggressive acceleration feeling than the D (Drive) mode and a gear change sensation when the driver accelerates quickly.

Basically the car runs higher RPM's ( how I got my first speeding ticket ) I'm not a mechanic but mine accl's a lot faster on the interstate and cruises around 75 or 80 still learning him tho.

What's your year?

Sport mode feels faster, because of the feel of the fake gear changes.
The clock says it is slower.
The cvt is programmed to keep the car in the optimal rev for the power being requested from the throttle. If you don't see 6k rpm you just aren't staying in it enough.
