Shifter bracket?

Ok on my way home tonight(went to get a quote for having the stillen front lip painted) Went to shift into 5th gear and my shifter went limp. No resistance at all. So I pulled over and opened the hood. The bracket for the cable before the cable goes to the transmission is broke in half. Is that bracket something I can get buy itself? It dark out and I really can't see it.
If so anyone have a link?

That bracket is a bastard. The 02/03 had a weak design that's prone to breaking. I don't know what availability is like but if you can find the part get one for an 04 through 06 Maxima. They made it stronger in the 6th gen cars.

This used to be a difficult part to get but I don't know how it is now. It will most likely be a dealer only part unless you can find one in a junk yard.

If you can't get the part you'll probably have to take it to someone who can TIG weld it back together and beef it up a bit while they're at it.

It's a bit of a ba$tard to get out too. If you have a set of flex head ratchet wrenches it makes it a lot easier.

Its easy to find and readily available. This is where I got mine from http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts...1_A001%2c34448

Hope the link works for you, I've ordered from them multiple times and never had an issue.

Wow that's cheap enough! Was expecting a lot more. Got to my car this morning and checked out the bracket. Yeah it looks like it's going to be a little bit of a pain to get to. I just ordered a new one.
Again thank you all for the help!

That is cheap. Good find! Nice to see availability getting better for once.

You'll see that the 6th gen part has more steel in it than the original.

I'm thinking a bit more clearly this morning and it's actually not as bad as it looks to get out. The trick is to go at it from under the car. It initially looks like something you'd get from up top but that's a lot harder. I've done it both ways and going from the top is still etched in my memory as being a pain the the a$$.
