I took my car in for a brake fluid flush recently and the mechanic stated that my pads may need replacing as he estimated that i had 15% remaining so I ordered the Akebono pads for the front & rear. After looking at the pads a bit closer, it seems that I have more like 50% remaining in front & maybe 40% rear. I took some photos, but what do you guys think. They still work great but I don't think there at the point of replacing just yet.

What I did find alarming was this inner sidewall crack which means I need new 19in rubber.
Those pads are nearly new and you can wear them down to 2mm without any concern. Typical b/s from the ripoff shop. One thing to make sure is to check both left and right calipers and within caliper both inner and outer pad. You can always find one pad that is sticking and worn way more than others. In which case that indicates an issue with hardware and needs addressing.
I'm looking to get these next week. I'm in SoCal so I never have contact with snow, just some rain during winter plus they have a $70 Prepaid Visa card offer.
You can get a better tire at a lower cost then the Bridgestones. Just saying. do a little research on here for tires and see what most people run. Good luck with your tire purchase.
