As of right now my friend who works on cars is telling me I might need a compressor. But we're taking it to his uncles shop after work to make sure before I spend that type of money

I thought the compressor would NOT kick on if there was no coolant in the system, as a way of protecting the compressor from burning out.

I just had my compressor checked out again today. I'm going to need a new one. I heard a slight clunking noise when the car was in park. The mechanic showed me where it was coming from the compressor. They're over $400 at autozone but I looked online at eBay and Amazon. I'm going to order one of those. I found some in the 100's and 200's. I think I might go with one of those if the reviews are good

You may want to order a dryer or "dehydrator" 92131-au420 and check on your alternator as well. As you must remove your compressor to replace the alternator, you may want to replace both at the same time.
