2000 Nissan Maxima.. With tons of issues

I bought this car 3 months ago! It has been freaking nightmare.. The throttlebody and IAC went out! That was fixed.. I have 2 o2 sensors that are bad and neutral safety switch going out! There's a problem I'm currently having leaving scratching my head.. WTF??? I took off panel where the odometer is to make sure everything is plugged in and that's good! Here's the problem speed odometer stop working! The gas and temp and mileage still works though but if i drive the car for long period of time it will just stop but after letting the car sit for little bit it comes back on.. What in the hell??? Each time it shuts dwn the car runs horrible!! Any suggestions??

get a odb2 scanner and report back with the codes

when your iacv went out did you inspect the ecm? unfortunately it is common for the ecm to be damaged when the iacv goes on these cars.

maybe new vss will solve speedometer?

Only codes it's throwing for 02 sensors.. I kinda had feeling about the ECM but hoping for cheaper and easier fix.. That's not good! I bought this car for 1900 and gonna cost wat more to fix.. It has a lot of mechanical problems! List full

it's not too hard to pull the ecm to check it, might be worthwhile to make sure that's not causing your problems. they can be repaired for about $150 +/- so it's not the end of the world

150? Wat if it is? They don't have to reprogram? By time I fix 02 sensors and neutral safety switch and motor mount.. I say I've reached Wat I paid for it.. I LOVE the fact they unhooked battery to erase the check engine light.. I got royally ****ed on this car..

Well I think any 15yo car has tons of issues with wear items and such, it wouldn't be so expensive if you could hunt down the parts and perform the work on it yourself,

Good luck with finding oem vss sensor. I just had to get a used one. I went to my local nissan dealer and the part for 2002 at least has been discontinued. I didn't think to have him try a different year same trans car though. I'm assuming it's the same. Nissan is really dropping the ball on older parts availability. Good luck.

If the car idles properly, then the ECU is fine. I would still do the TB coolant bypass.
Definitely let us know what the codes are.

Not that you should trust internet people , but maybe a member is in your area that can help.

My car not running good at all.. Its fine at first but longer car drives worse problems.. Meaning.. Hesistates when giving gas.. When Its sitting it struggles to keep idol and of give gas and let off it does but starts back up! Same process starts over

First things first:So, I suggest: Order yourself an ODBC reader. While you wait, clean the MAF (it seems very likely it's either outright bad or at least dirty; instructions here https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...10-w-pics.html). Then, depending what codes you get, order all sensors you'll need from Rockauto.com. So, perhaps it's not as bad as it all looks right now. With a bit of luck, you could be in business for perhaps couple hundred dollars.
