replacing low profile tires w/regular tires

Hello, I have a 2014 Maxima sv sport package and was wondering if I can change out the goodyear low profile tires for normal tires. I know my friend has a 13 sv with 18" wheels and dws continental tires that give a much better ride. Any advise on this?

Thanks

Continental dws are a great choice, as many here have replaced OEM with them. I changed out my 19 inch goodyears for Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3 and there is a big uptick in driving experience with these.

Our cars came in with two wheel size options
18" and 19"
18" wheel uses 245/45R18 tires
19" wheel uses 245/40R19 tires

There is no such thing as normal tires. If you are asking if you can switch to 18" wheels, then answer is yes. You just gotta buy new wheels and tires.

If you switch to any other size combo, that significantly alters diameter/circumference of the tire, your speedometer and odometer will be reporting wrong data.

I also run Continental DWS tires on my Max and really happy with them.

I have the OEM 19" wheels and also swapped tires recently to DWS06's and the ride is significantly better. Personally I would do that vs. going down to a new 18" wheel. You'll likely save money and IMO the OE 19's look fantastic.

My wife has a 12 SV Premium and my daughter has a 14 Sport and I can definitely feel the ride difference. Love the look of the 19's but love the ride of the 18's better.
