i just recently purchased a 2011 sv and had no problems until a couple of days ago. when i start up the engine i can hear 5 loud chirping beeps coming from the left driver side dashboard. it only happens when the engine is cold. if i turn the car off and then turn it on again before the engine gets cold it doesn't do it anymore. i looked in the manual but i cant find anything on this. does anyone know what it could be.

 

Someone may be able to confirm this as well but mine beeps a few times as well and I believe it like an initial diagnostics check.

 

Sounds a bit like seat belt alert. Is the seat belt light on at the same time? The driver's side will only chirp for 6 seconds so this "may" be your issue...especially if you are a light person or the sensor is defective.

 

I dont think its the seatbelt the first time i noticed it it only chirped 3 times now its doing it 5 times and i just turned it on and it did it 7 times. its not a beep like a seat belt its a louder chirping sound like a high pitched bird almost. it sounds almost like an alarm.

 

Serpintine belt or the tentioner bearing??

 

Thanks ill check i out but just to be clear the sound is not coming from the engine it sounds like its coming from a speaker in the car like a warning system.

 

With the doors closed turn the ignition to the acc or on position without starting the car does it beep?

 

Another thin to try is get in car, shut door, buckle up the seat belt then start the car. Beep still there??

 

The beep only sounds when I start up the car. I tried locking the doors and putting the seatbelt on and I still heard it. This time it was 8 beeps and the time before it was 7 so I think everyone I start the car it adds an extra one.a

I don't know what it was but it isn't doing it anymore. I got out of work turned it on and it didn't beep. I've turned it on 3 times since and it hasn't done it on any of them.
