2.0 MR20DE oil cooler leak
Hi guys,
I am enquiring here in case you all can enlighten me regarding the oil cooler arrangement on the 2 liter MR20DE engine.
It appears the 2.5 and larger nissan engines are well known for the oring seal between the cooler and the block failing and the seals are readily available.
I have what appears to be the same problem on the 2.0 liter engine and cannot get to the bottom of whether the orings available from Nissan which suit or can be used in the other engines will work for the baby brother. Nissan only wants to sell the complete oil cooler assembly for way to much cash...
Due to time constraints of the vehicle owner being a hard working mum I cannot remove the cooler and take the oring(s) in to attempt identification. If necessary I will haunt the local wrecking yards till I find an engine with the cooler assembly and use the orings for identification purposes.
