Working on my "new' Maxima today. Notice this strap hanging down that is attached to the inner fender. Cant figure out what it is supposed to be attached to.
Can someone explain what this is supposed to do? I dont want it hanging down under the car. Passenger side has the same thing. I am sure the previous owner was being lazy because I have seen alot of signs of other things they have botched.

Reason: Typo
Couldn't tell you from the picture, too close. Not even sure what I'm looking at. I do see a hose in the right center of the picture that's not attached to anything.at that end.
Looks like the strap that holds that plastic panel. Strap appears to be on the wrong side. Missing is a plastic removable rivet. Should be an identical one where the old filter is on the pass side.
I'll get another picture of it tomorrow from a little futher away. The picture that I posted above is inside the driver side wheel well. The tire has been removed. You can see the axle in the upper right side of the picture and teh lower control arm.
I am pretty sure this strap is used to secure the inner fender, just dont know where its supposed to attach.
It attaches to the frame right behind where your jack is (if I can tell from the orientation). You detach the strap when you remove the oil filter, so it's right around that area.
It is a strap for the splash shield but it looks torn. Note around the hole where the 10mm plastic rivet goes. I got mine at amazon a few years back not a bad price.
