Some of you know I had a bearing replaced on my VQ and the knock repair did not stick. I have tried a few things but this did wonders. Drove 300 miles in near 90 degree weather quiet. Drove back 300 miles in 90+ degree weather quiet. Cold start is much quieter. Runs very well compared to my years of Mobil one 5w30 and 5w30 EP.
Bad news is I can hear my a/c clutch more distinctly.

 

Sad day that you solve one problem and now notice such a previously unheard tragic sound....Ha ha!

 

Thanks for the update, i will definitely keep it in mind. Do you think it more castrol or going up to 5w40?

 

The pretty sure its is the viscosity, I had tried the 5w-30 Castrol syntec previously and car knocked pretty bad.

 

You had oil burning issues in the past with 5w30?

 

Never had to add oil in its life, 134K miles. Had engine knock for a long time.
