What is needed to replace my lost key fob.
i do have another, but don't want to be without a spare.
I see, on Ebay, that I can buy a programmable new replacement for $50-$100. They do state that they require professional programming. I know that there are locksmiths, in my area, who do this.
Is there anything special or particular, other than compatibility with a 2014 Maxima that I have to look out for?

Amazon Amazon

Amazon Amazon

This and similar programmers usually go for $90. They're good for maybe ten uses (i.e., you can add a key to your car, then add another key next year if you lose it again, then repeat 8 more times). The included key is OEM-quality.

I bought a second key from this EBay vendor for $30:

Also OEM quality. A $20 key I bought before from Amazon was inferior garbage.

Home Depot cut my programmed keys for nothing; both work fine to open the door, just like the original key I used to program them.

TY everyone for your replies.
However, I have had the fortunate luck of having my lost key fb actually FOUND!(saving me all that nuisance & cost of replacement!)
I am a lucky man. My keys actually fell out of my hand into a friend's car, while i was conversing with them, & they were not accidentally thrown out by me. I had told my friend that apparently I had thrown my key fob away, by mistake, right after speaking with them. My friend looked &found my key fob in their car & called me to ask if it was mine. It was. So, good luck has one time found me!
