AC Started blowing hot after new Alternator install.

I have a 2013 Nissan maxima SV that recently had to have the alternator replaced in it and the first person to tell me they knew how to replace the alternator I realized later did not know what they were doing . After they were standing out there for six hours and just had made no progress this guy took the pulleys off and the belts even a tire. so I just told him thanks thank you and let him go and I called another friend of mine who is a mechanic and he came over and put the alternator on and finished it with no problem but he said that the guy had all kind of stuff taken apart that should not have been taken off of the car, and he thought he’d put it back together to the best of his knowledge however once it was done and put back together and the car started up just fine the air conditioner was blowing hot and this air conditioner has been ice cold for the three years I’ve had this car. I noticed that the compressor was not kicking on when the air conditioner was on but I haven’t recharged anyway and it’s still hot obviously it’s probably some sort of compressor issue but I have a hard time believing that compressor just went out at the same time the alternator was changed so is there like fuses or power supply that goes to the compressor that the first guy could’ve messed up or something I’m not sure what I’m looking for here but it is so hot and I’m hoping praying that it’s just some sort of something not being hooked up right isn’t There fuses that go to the AC too? I know nothing about cars? I would appreciate it if somebody could lead me in the right direction thank you very much?

If he messed with or loosened any of the a/c compressor lines you may be low on refrigerant now. If it was working fine before he touched it and now the compressor won't kick on, that's a telltale sign that you could be low on refrigerant. If you're not knowledgeable in that kind of work I would definitely take it to someone who is.

I had it recharged with refrigerant after so I know it’s full it was just blowing hot then i noticed that the compressor was not kicking on since it was fine before I would assume the compressor is still good. What would keep the compressor from kicking on? I canT really afford to spend $1000 on it so I was going to attempt to do it myself if it was something I could do? Thanks again!

He may have forgot to plug in the compressor if he unplugged it.

Be-sure its plugged in, and Check the Fuse in The IPDM for the Compressor.

2011 Nissan maxima

I had my alternator replaced as well, noticed the ac was blowing hot after a day, noticed a pin hole size hole on the low side hose. I’m assuming when the alternator was being installed it caught the line slightly and made a hole. I’m replacing the line and refilling it. I found a new line on Amazon for 24$
