Engine making a sound when stopped

Hello everyone! I have been hearing a noise coming from my engine when I come to a stop. The noise is sort of like a ticking sound but more like it is creaking. It also only seems to happen mainly when stopped in Drive and it has also happened when stopped in Park or Neutral. My Maxima has 270k km on it now and I'm just looking to see if anyone has encountered a similar problem and if there are any suggested diagnostics/repairs. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Sounds like an old motor ticking.

Check the oil level. Sound like lifters starving for oil.

I am burning close to 1/2 quart oil at about 3500 miles after oil changes. So I add oil then to last to my scheduled 4k oil and filter change.

Have almost 300k on original engine

, I add this to my filter and oil change

what’s your thoughts/ do you think @LtLeary ?

I add Hot Shots Stiction Eliminator to mine and it quieted down the lifters quite a bit. I used it in my F-150 and had 300k on it, ran quiet without the "5.4 tick" after that.

It is really up to you! I know some who swear by such products. I was a big proponent of STP back in the day but have only used Mobil 1 synthetic in my 465,000 miles 7th Gen. ( not high mileage or extended variants.) Still use very little betwen my 5000 mile schedule (i really dont see much difference in level between changes.)

i continue to get my oil analyzed every 100,000 miles or so and keep up on maintenance items and continue to be light on the throttle although admit to being a little heavy footed when in the presence of too many entitled/inconsiderate drivers to my shame. But that is probably a topic for another thread!
