Code 0024- Vvt solenoid

About a month ago I replaced the bank to VVT solenoid because I was getting the 0024 code. I also had to replace the front catalytic converter because when I bought the car it was pouring oil out of the exhaust and I had to replace both valve covers. Since I replaced all four camshaft position timing sensors. The bank to VVT solenoid which I just tested today with my multimeter and I came to find out that there's nothing wrong with it. Does anyone out there know what else could be causing this code?

Is your bank to actually bank two?

So you loaded up the parts cannon and gave it a shot but still have the code? Did you back probe for signal and ground to make sure the power was making it all the way to the sensor?

A few folks on the forum have had this issue and had it "self mitigate" after changing the oil and filter, clearing the code and no longer having any issues. They got more "religious" about changing their oil and filter.

If the signals are good to the VVT and oil and filter have been changed, then look at TSB NTB12-116. It walks you through the process of replacing the Exhaust Valve Control Magnet Retarders.

By the way, not understanding your statement of bad valve covers filling the Cats with Oil. Not sure how the two are related.

Please let us know what you find.
