2009 Nissan maxima running fine no codes, lights.. Came to a stop sign and went to accelerate and had no acceleration only idle at 500 rpm. Moved car into neutral and car revs just fine. Back into drive and no acceleration or rpms. Turned off the car and immediately went to restart and had no power to anything? Jumped car and immediately started. New battery, ran fine next day same issue again but wouldn’t stay running after jump. Changed out the alternator, ran for 2 hours parked and left it running while I went into the store. Came out and car was chugging and then died again. Will only run with Jump box but still has no power till accelerate. Any suggestions?

 

This is pretty common with aftermarket alternators from the local autoparts store. My recommendation is to buy the oem alternator, but you can, as others have, try two or three alternators until you get a working one. But, it is always best to put some test equipment on to validate a good system, oem or not. That way you aren't guessing.
