Another Electrical Issues Thread...

2012 SV Max. I've been chasing some electrical problems for a while now so wondering if anyone can help diagnose. No performance issues, car has never shut off on its own with the engine running. Sometimes things just stop working. Lights will flicker, a headlight bulb here, a rear indicator there. Sluggish turn over. Screen will go black but then come back on after restarting the car. Most recently, my left front indicator went out, then my right, but it would still work as the parking light. Then I changed the bulbs, but now the indicators work and the parking light doesn't.

Ive had to replace my battery twice under warranty in the past year as it would start dying after 2 days of not being used, then a day, then it would need to be jumped every time the car needs to start, and everything in the car would shut off when I turn off the engine (interior lights, lock buttons, etc). I changed the battery ground wire but that was before my indicator issue, so don't think that fixed it. This issue has been going on for a while and like I said the engine has never cut off and the car starts once jumped if it's dead, so I'm doubtful it's the alternator.

Any ideas? I have done a good amount with electronics (replaced all the lights with LEDs, DashCam with battery protector mode, Grom unit infotainment, added the factory puddle lighting) but nothing really heavy on power like a sound system. And to my understanding LEDs use less power.

The next time your car acts up, put a meter on the battery and see what the voltages tell you. I suspect it's the alternator or alternator related, like the harness.

definitely the alternator.... voltage regulator. Several months before mine died, It started having the same types of issues, various things like power seats, door locks, windows, etc... would work intermittently. Once I replaced the alternator, everything worked again. When the alternator dies, sometimes it will start to send AC voltage through the system causing all kinds of weird things to happen. So I'd start there for sure
