09 maxima p0430

09 maxima 275k on the clock. Recently this code came up and I’m due for an inspection this month so I need to get this fixed. I believe this is a bad 02 sensor. If I am correct which one? Any help is appreciated. New to this.

I had to replace the cat (the one up front by the radiator) to get rid of this as I had replaced both upstream and down sensors to no avail.

how many sensors are there total? This is the first ever front wheel drive I’ve owned not sure how it’s all set up.

So which sensors would I need to replace to hopefully clear the light? I’d like to try that before I replace the cat.

I really dont recall. Over the years I picked up O2 socket sets and crows feet and just reached into the toolbox to find one that fit.

So the sensors I need to replace are before and after the cat near the radiator?

No, but those are the one's YOU say you wish to change. I believe the Cat needs to be replaced . But it is your car and if you wish to replace those sensors, they are the ones for bank two! Pay attention to the part numbers!

So you think the front cat needs to be replaced? Any cheaper alternatives? Just need to pass inspection

Is you need only to pass inspection you can do three things:
-just before inspection erase DTCs - it shoud be no check light for ca 10-15 miles, sometimes more
-install O2 sensor emulator for sensor after catalist - it a extension for o2 sensor mounting point - easy to buy on ebay
-use a obd2 DTCs eraser/cleaner

you have to get up to like 65 mph and then slow down a couple of times as well. Not just drive 50 miles. I almost have the method down lol.

Sad to say but that code is a bad CAT no sensor...
