Another headlight question
Another headlight question
forgive me, as I have read many threads but most of them are about bulbs etc.
I have a 2011 Maxima SV Sport edition that I barely drive, so it's not like I want to drop 500-1000 on headlights. Mine came with HID/Xenon I know now lol.
Why are the HID headlight assemblies soo expensive vs the halogen and what is the difference? Could I not just but the 150-260 set and put my parts on them. i.e. ballasts and such.....
(pictures on the difference would be nice if possible)
I changed them already, even went through the baking them process to black out one of them (I hit something on the right and had to change light and ballast), so I picked up a couple used ones on ebay as the other one was a bit faded and I liked the blacked out style.Put in aftermarket ballasts and bulbs. The low beams are HORRIBLE, so I adjusted the lights and run with the high beams on when I drive at night, although no one has flashed me, so they can't be too bright) I think I got the wrong headlight assemblies and put the cheap HID kit in them and that causes a combination of problems.
I would like to change both light assemblies, get a set of ballasts and bulbs (60ish on amazon) and also change out the fog lights to match without just throwing money away on a car I rarely drive. All advice welcome and appreciated.

FYI, I sent this message to an amazon seller and their response.
I have a 2011 nissan maxima sv/sport with ballasts headlights. I would like to change the headlights and the fog lights. I am interested in converting from HID to halogen. -cost main reason. Can I just buy this harness and your lights 192925010889 part number. LMK if you have a package deal and can help. fog lights, headlights, main bulbs for each and harness if you have that as well.
"Hello, I am sorry, but I do not recommend doing that because that can cause a code on your dashboard. Best regards,"
