Stress crack

Does anyone know why I would get a stress crack in my bumper in the corner of the passenger headlight on my 2014 Maxima? I took it to the body shop and they told me it appears to be a stress crack since there was no visible evidence of any impact. The replacement bumper is only around $350, but it's 6 hours of labor to replace it. So around $1,100 to repair.

No. The body shop tells me the only way to fix it is to replace the bumper.
