2014 Maxima Low-beam issues

Hey all! I'm new here, and hoping for some knowledge before I lose my mind. I bought my 2014 Maxima back in March. It's great, I love it. Less than 100K miles, and plenty of get up and go still.

But....

My low beams were absolute trash. Like, my blinkers were brighter than my lows. My high beams, absolutely great. So, I went on Amazon, bought what I thought were going to be replacement Xenon bulbs, just to find out, it's Halogen. So I went to my local AAP, bought some orange package Sylvania silver stars, and threw those in there. Just for them to not be much brighter than the ones I just replaced.
I did just use the 3M headlight restorer on them as well, because they were quite ugly looking, but they're nice and clean and clear, and almost look brand new, so I know it's probably not the housings.

I'm thinking maybe, they're pointed down too low, so they aren't being reflected the right way? I don't have dog lights in this, so my lows are it at night. And with winter coming here in Mass, I wanna be able to see.

Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y'all!

I have a 2014 Maxima S and experienced the same problem.
Here is what I did to make things a little better.
1) Purchased fog lights. I was able to install them myself. Pop out the plastic cover. The plug connectors were already there, taped to the side of the subframe. The hardest part was swapping out the new new light stalk on the side of the steering column. The fog lights are actually much brighter than the main headlights.
2) Adjusted the focus/direction of the main headlights. By default, the main headlights are pointed down, directly in front of the car. I turned the adjustment screw to point the main beam higher, farther in front of the vehicle just beyond the reach of the fog lights. Be careful not to turn them into high-beams or you will get a ticket.
