While this is up, I lightly curbed mine as well.....does anyone know the color code for the limited edition wheels so I can order some touch up paint?

OP, Depending on how bad it is......

If its deeply grooved into the rim, you'll need to sand it down, use a jb weld or some other metal filler, sand it down again, then repaint (prime, paint, clear coat).

If its lightly grooved into the rim, you can likely just do a light sand to smooth out the burrs and repaint.

Mine are small enough that I will likely just dab a little touch up paint on it and apply some opti-coat or some other really durable sealant.

Search the website......there is a thread where people have fixed their curbed wheels.

I feel your pain though.....there is no worse feeling that pulling up next to the curb and hearing your wheel grind on the curb. Really get your deep in the stomach....

Not sure why this would be unique to Limited Edition owners, nor would a Limited Edition customer have any more useful info than a normal member...

Fixing wheels is fixing wheels. vball max gave some good pointers. I'd suggest watching some Youtube videos as well.

I think he was referring to the color of the wheels. The silver color of the aluminum makes the curbed area show more against the dark wheels. So maybe thats why the OP referred to limited edition owners. Maybe he was looking for the paint color/code too and forgot to ask for it?

But you are right.....fixing a curbed wheel is fixing a curbed wheel.

Wow I am reading this thread at the right time...I was being a major bonehead yesterday and curbed one of my limited edition rims too...backing up in the dark, talking on the phone and writing an email at the same time just don't add up...my driver front rim is lightly curbed and I am thinking all I need is to patch it up with some paint...is there a specific paint code for these rims?

I curbed another rim last night so I was doing some more research on the color of the limited edition wheels. I was looking at the K11 paint which is supposedly the paint on the GT-R wheels and it looks like a close match. Here are 2 pics of a white GT-R and a maxima LE. Let me know what you think....same wheel color?

The dark limited edition wheels look great when they are perfect, but man do they make a little curbage stick out.

One other thing.....did the other limited edition owners notice that the wheels arent painted all the way to the inside lip of the wheel? On mine, its like they stopped just after they got in past the spokes. Kinda sloppy for a $34k car.

When I hit a curb doing 45 my 2 front rims got bent so I had a shop resand them and boom back to normal.

Btw check the tires too. I had to replace mine because of bent rim :/

I confirmed last night that the K11 touch up paint is a very close match to the limited edition wheel color. Its not 100% match, but definitely close enough. I'll post some pics up once I get them wet sanded and shined up.

Here are some (crappy) pictures of my touched up wheels using K11 touch up paint to show the color. I would say the K11 is ever so slightly darker than the stock color, but you really have to look at the right angle to notice it in person. The camera really accentuates the imperfections.

I lightly sanded the curb rash to get rid of the sharp high spots, applied 2 coats of the touch up paint with the brush applicator, and then polished the crap out of it to get it shiny and to blend it better. I'll be waxing them in a week or so so hopefully that will help a little too. I originally tried putting a clear coat over the paint, but that darkened the color of the paint and it didnt match well, so I ended up sanding it off . One of the rashes was bad enough that I filled it with JB weld first, sanded and primed it before applying the paint. This was my first time ever doing any kind of touch up or body work so to speak so it took me a bit of trial and error.

Here are the pics. Sorry about the quality, my phone takes really bad photos. You can at least get an idea of the color match.
