2016 Maxima official release photos
The Maxima has never had AWD, and has never competed in Canada. The high Maxima prices in Canada would prevent any great success there, even if AWD was available.
I have never understood why the Maxima is so much more expensive in Canada than in the U.S. The high price of the Maxima in Canada is way out of line with prices of other vehicles that are sold in both the U.S. and Canada.
Of course the exceptionally low ground clearance (4 1/2 inches on the 7th gen) of the Maxima would make it less than an ideal vehicle in any snow or slush more than a few inches deep, AWD or not.

Here's some interesting reading on Canada vs. U.S. pricing differences.
Canadians pay more than people in the U.S. for cars made in Canada.

Very interesting info, CS AR
So a base Z that has an MSRP of $32K in the U.S. has an MSRP of $185K in U.S. dollars in Singapore. I won't be buying a vehicle in Singapore.
Interesting that Nissan makes no vehicles in Canada. Most major auto brands have at least a few vehicles made in Canada. I think almost all Nissans sold in the U.S. are made either in Smyrna TN, Canton MS or in Japan.
Even more interesting that vehicles made in Canada sell for thousands more at a dealership in the town in which they are made than they sell for in the U.S., including even in Hawaii or Alaska. Also interesting that U.S. dealers will not sell to Canadian citizens.
I still live in a dream world where the government will not allow price fixing. The reality is that price fixing and competition are not mutually exclusive.
And diverging slightly, Nissan brought back the Datsun to many parts of the world last year, and folks at my Nissan dealer have heard that the Datsun will be brought back to the U.S. within the next year or two. A Datsun was the first Nissan product I ever rode in (back in the late 1950s), and a Datsun was the first Nissan product I ever bought (back in the late 1970s).
But, as CS AR said, by this time next week, Canadian prices and price rigging and Datsuns will all be old news. We will be totally focused on the 2016 Maxima, and all its facts, figures and options. I am really excited.

Nice looking car.
One insignificant detail - Guilford, Connecticut is on I-95, not I-91. My niece is a lawyer, and lives just north of there. Doesn't matter. Very nice catch. Appreciated.

And with no camo. And in the miserable rain/snow of Connecticut. That is pretty far from Smyrna or the traditional testing grounds for Nissan.

This is relatively close to NYC (about 100 miles or 2 hours), maybe this one will show up at the New York Auto Show?

Don't know if anyone has noticed this or if this has been posted, if so I apologize for the double post...
Take a look at the 4DSC engraved inside the headlight

I wonder if this is on the production version or not
I gotta admit I thought you were getting cozy with photoshop, so I went to nissan web site and downloaded original image, and sure enough, its there.
You get Eagle eye award, if there is one on this site.
7th Gen only had a sticker on the back door, 8th gen will have a more permanent display. I bet some headlight wiz on this site will make it a more prominent mod.
Wow! Can't believe you spotted that! That is pretty awesome the way its in the headlights. Each day I love this car more and more, can't wait to hear the specs tomorrow and be able to option mine out in my head!
^ Yup, sure enough. No photoshop, I actually noticed it while seeing the big image on the Nissan site as well.
Funny enough, I play GT6 and Nissan's chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno is very good friends with the polyphony Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi..The Mercedes Vision GT car in the game actually featured the playstation buttons inside the headlight... My guess is this idea for the 8th gen somehow is a product of that.
Actually, for those that didn't know the R35 GTR display was actually created for Nissan by Yamauchi, after being asked by Kazunori. So this all seems to make sense.
Pretty cool to see this stuff coming to real life, for sure

You have got to be kidding me! How did LOTH missed this?

Of course the full truth is that I totally overlooked this little nuance that is actually quite visible on my old system, and which is quite unlike anything I have ever seen on a Maxima. Shame on me.
I hope D. Stilwell does not live near me. His eagle eye would catch every misdeed I might even be dreaming of.

This will be on the production car. Nissan would not have posted this official photo with anything that was not available on the production car.

This will not be the Maxima shown at the New York International Auto Show. I guarantee the display car has been polished within an inch of its life, will be perfectly ready for display well ahead of the show, and would never be put in a position where it could be involved in an accident before the show. These intros are very carefully planned, and nothing is left to chance. The display car will be just as pampered as a million dollar race horse until the intro. After that, with the pressure off, it may end up anywhere.
Exactly! It seems like the 6th and 7th gen were not able to wear the 4DSC name, but looks like the 8th gen is set to bring the real 4DSC back thats been missing since the 5th gen.
This just up on Nissannews.com
Full information and photos of the 2016 Nissan Maxima will be available April 2nd, 9:55 a.m. EDT, at www.NissanNews.com.
I am still hoping it will be unvailed today ?
