I can't stand the people that write for Jalop, and that article is a great example of why.

His observations are right there but the whole Harry Chapin rant is bad (the song is a classic). And come on- the guy owned a Dodge Dart >.>

Regardless...

The Jalopnik network is hands down the best automotive site! Even if you don't agree with the authors, the community (and their comments) are amazing and it is a great hub for info. The volume of articles, whether you like them or not, are a catalyst for any car advocate's mind.

Wow! It is as if he expected the 8th gen Maxima to be produced using the same body panel stamping machine dyes as the concept car. That has never happened, and never will. I am surprised that site stays in business with such illogical thinking. In actuality, the new Maxima resembles the concept car more closely than we see in most of these situations.

I have no idea why they compared the front half of one car with the back half of the other. Or why he shows the left end of the dash for one car and the center portion for the other. And everyone knew the outside mirrors would have to be changed, because the ones on the concept car were not much more than an inch high, and stuck out over a foot from the car.

The views from the front of both cars is a fair comparison, and the resemblance is striking. I think the few changes we see from the front were positive ones. My only question is whether the author is simply a Maxima hater, or just loves to rile folks up with questionable (or wrong) statements to stir debate.

I find it interesting that we can find such misguided stuff on the internet. Takes all kinds, I suppose.

Completely disagree, but to each their own. I find it to be one of the worst automotive sites on the net. That includes the comment section.

The 8th gen Maxima is in my opinion as close as possible for real world driving and function! I am very pleased with how close it is to to concept and can't wait to have my own.
