I noticed the tag holder on the front bumper. That was a problem with the 7th gen, in that holes had to be drilled through the bumper to mount the tag holder. Is the 8th gen grill/bumper designed in a way that either the holes do not have to be drilled, or if they do, are not noticable on that blacked out part of the car?
I'm sorry I didn't get a good look at the tag holder, but what was funny was the salesman approaching me out in the lot as I waited for my car to get serviced. Asking me what car I drive and if I'm interested in a 2015 maxima, I said where's your 2015 maximas I never heard of one? He points to a 2014 maxima and I laughed, that's when I asked when they'll have 2016 model. He said we have one in our showroom, this is the same dealer that told me they'd have them in the spring. Thanks to the boards here I'm happy to report I already knew more about the new car then all the salesmen trying to get me to lease it. I said when you can tell me more about the car other then what my payments are gonna be I'll come back. Then I said you mind if I snap some pictures

The 2015 Murano gives it a run for its money!

Somehow, the '15 Murano sort of got lost in the shuffle with folks here. Probably because most Maxima fans do not usually look hard at SUV type vehicles. But the Murano looks good, has most of the modern technology safety features we are getting in this new Maxima, is getting good reviews, and I think compares very favorably with the RAV-4 and CRV, both of which are well-built, very popular vehicles.

I mean the interior/Dash, also the Murano does not compete with the Rav-4 nor CRV. Those are lower tier and compete with the Rogue, Honda does not have an equivalent crossover unless you move to Acura as the Honda Pilot competes with Pathfinder, Toyota sorta does with the Venza. The Murano is equivalent to the Maxima in price and quality and is 30's to 40 something K loaded up.

You are absolutely correct, of course. I had a brain fart when I compared the Murano with CRV and RAV-4. TOTALLY different category, and I knew that. My wife spent the spring comparing the Rogue with the CRV and RAV-4, then decided to keep her truck. As you indicated, the Murano is sort of Nissan's midsize SUV equivalent to the Maxima, and has been from early on. And the interior of the Murano is surprisingly well done.
