door unlocking

I have a question regarding the unlocking on the maxima.
On my '14 altima, when i set the car on "park", the doors would unlock. Now on my maxima this doesnt happen. I've been searching through the settings and there isnt option to turn this on. Anyone has this same issue?

that's strange, because the driver's side door on my SR does unlock once i put it in park. mess with the settings in the driver's display under "vehicle options." there should be a door locking/unlocking section.

The dealer can program it so it unlocks when put into park.

This can be done through settings in the car (the details of which I have now forgottten). As soon as I buy my car, I change my settings to STOP the door(s) from unlocking when I put the car in park, because I always like to just sit in the car a moment and check out everything around me before unlocking a door. Should I exit unarmed? With holstered pistol? With unholstered pistol? The closer I get to Atlanta (or any large city), the more careful I check before unlocking the door. There days, things can get scary in a heartbeat. Especially if I am driving a car that looks mean, which this 2016 Maxima certainly does.

Is this really an option? I looked in the settings and what I see is Selective Lock or something like that. Is that the option? My 2009 and now my 2016 both unlock only when I shut the car off. Ive never had them unlock when I put the car in park, and I didn't even know it was possible.

Hey everyone, first post.

So to the OP, from everything I can find it looks like the only way to make all doors unlock when putting the car in park is for the dealership to do it.

This is kind of disappointing and inconvenient.

But that's the way I want mine to be as well.

Let me know if you find another way.

Not an option for 2016, I did hear it is on the 17's.
