Wifey and I went to the Fayetteville GA Post Office to mail the pile of proxies that we fill out for various stock holdings each spring, and wifey noticed that we were being followed by a 2016 Maxima (she notices these things). We pulled into a packed PO lot (seems half the world mails their tax returns on the last day), and had to head to the overflow lot. That white 2016 Maxima was right behind us all the way. After parking, we chatted briefly with the driver of the white Platinum (we finally got a look at the rear of his car), and he said it was his fourth Maxima, and the best one by far.
Seeing that beautiful Maxima and the smiling face of that happy driver left a good taste in my mouth, even in the face of a line inside the PO that doubled back twice and probably had over a hundred tired, weary folks standing for what was probably over a half hour. Final tax day here is worse than the last mailing day for Christmas. We simply dropped our proxies in the 'out' slot, retrieved the mail from our PO box and left without even considering waiting in that long line to buy the special stamps we were intending to buy.
After seeing around one 8th gen Maxima a month on the streets last summer, around two a month last fall, and around three a month during winter, we are now seeing several each week. I fully expect that, as more folks begin seeing more of these 2016 Maximas on the street, there will be more folks who begin thinking in terms of buying one. I see folks looking at my car every time I park it in a public place.
Starting to see more of them in South jersey. It seemed like I had the only 2016, now I see one at least twice a day. I still get looks and comments, especially after it's detailed!
I'm in south jersey. I got mine at Woodbury Nissan. They were the only ones that had a white SR with charcoal interior. As much as I liked the camel, I didn't want to worry about the dirt as much with my 2 young boys.

I hear ya... I loved the camel (and I usually hate mixed color interior), but felt it wouldn't hold.
After three months, finally saw an 8th gen near my home in Pittsburgh! A white Platinum heading the other way, recognized it by the front grill.
Do Platinum buyers tend to prefer the white?

According to a poll I created on the Facebook page, any trim Maxima owners prefer white lol. More than half of the Maxima's out there are white

That seems to be about the same percentage of whites I see here in middle Georgia. But then I can understand why folks in middle Georgia would prefer white. Stand in a parking lot at 2PM in the summertime around here and place one hand on a white car and the other on a dark car and one hand is comfortable while the other will have third degree burns in short order.
Incidentally, I think we have had almost half a dozen new posters with new 2016 Maximas register here within the last week or so. That is certainly an improvement from last summer, fall and winter, when we often got between none and two new 2016 posters per week. Things are picking up.

I'm in Pittsburgh too! I have only seen a Grey SR and a Blue Platinum. I have a White SR w/ Black Roof and really dark tint.
Thursday April 29 - Saw a black 2016 Maxima SR waiting at light on Grove Park Entry (Fayetteville GA), which is entrance to subdivision right next to mine.
Friday April 30 - Saw a black 2016 Maxima SL or Platinum (had double panel roof) sitting at an antique shop just east of main Fayetteville GA Post Office.
I'm seeing an average of three 2016 Maximas per week now. I expect that number to increase, as this 8th gen is a very 'noticable' vehicle. It draws extended looks every where I park it. When I encounter folks I know, they often ask if I will trade vehicles with them. That is just their way of saying they like my ride.

Today (Sunday May1st), my wife spotted a white 2016 Maxima parked in the lot just south of the Original Mattress Factory in Fayetteville GA. I had only a quick glance, so, even though I did confirm it was a 2016 Maxima, I did not have a chance to determine which model. We now seem to see a new Maxima on the streets almost every day. That is such a dramatic change from last fall, when we seldom ever saw one.
I'm in Pittsburgh and I have seen the white one with the tinted windows on West Liberty Ave. I just bought my gun metal grey SR a couple weeks ago. Not to many of them around our area. I would love to tint my windows but the cops in my borough are sticklers about tint.
White 2016 Maxima at traffic light southbound on GA Hwy 85 at GA Hwy 314 Saturday at 3PM. No double panel roof. 18" wheels. Probably an S or SV, because SL and Platinum have double panel roofs and SR has 19" wheels. I see one almost every day now, so don't always post about it. They stand out in the midst of all other traffic. Yes, I am probably looking specifically for them.

Probably saw me! I have a White Max but I work on W. Liberty at Subaru. I'm always around that way. I remember seeing a Grey SR one day and loving how it looks in that color.
Have you been pulled over anywhere in Pittsburgh for your tint. Mt. Lebanon and castle Shannon cops are pretty ruff on tint.
Luckily I haven't with my 5% now on this car or on my old Maxima. I drive through Mt Lebo about once a week and never get bothered but I can't speak on Castle Shannon. I have been told my other people that they're both hard on tint but I guess I've just been lucky.
Most city cops are pretty cool about it. Who did your windows and what did they charge? Are you happy with there work?
I had mine done at Solar Control near Monroeville. He did this car and my previous car and he did a pretty decent job. I think I Paid 200 or 220 for 5% Carbon Tint with lifetime warranty.
Honestly if you want a nice dark tint on your windows but don't want to be hassled I recommend 20% it's just dark enough to look good but doesn't attract attention from cops. I just decided with this car I don't want you to be able to see me at all so I went with 5
I have also had people I know use Double Take Automotive on Banksville and they do decent work too. I think they might cost a little more but not by much.
BTW, Pittsburgh folks, did you get winter tires for yours? I got mine fairly late in the year and we barely had snow, but I'm wondering if it's worth it with our usual mix.

I am gonna buy some for mine this coming winter but I'm not sure if I'm gonna by 18 inch wheels and snow tires for those or just buy the few snow tires for the stock 19s. I usually drive a Subaru from work in the winter but I still want snows on mine just in case.

I'm thinking about getting snow tires for the 19's when factory are gone and getting 20's for summer.
That's because it was an early release as a new model.
Spot on. The 2016 Maxima, as do all new generation model year Maximas, arrived earlier than new model year changeovers that are not a new generation. The actual 'release' date (when dealers could sell them) was June 3rd, which was the day I sent my first offer on a 2016 Maxima to my dealer. The 2017 Maximas should have virtually NO changes, and, as is usual with non-generation change model years, should begin arriving at dealers in late August.
I purchased my new 2016 Maxima Platinum like 3 weeks ago and I cannot stop looking at it! hahaha I love this car! Gun Metal and I'm getting ready to lower it, put on 20's, and add some other mods as well!
I like that color combo. Dealer near me has one just like it marked at 35k.
Yup, I got mine for 35,870 from 42K! Not too shabby. Love this damn car! Thanks guys, I've always loved the Gun Metal color! Now I'm having a hard time deciding on the color of the wheels! Gun Metal, all Black, or a silver
