I'm definitely seeing many more Maximas now....too many for my liking. I like the feeling of driving a car that not very many people have. A few days ago, a Maxima that's the same Coulis Red as mine pulled up right next to me at a stoplight. Today, a blue one was at the pump in front of me at the gas station. I suppose this was inevitable once the dealerships started selling them at thousands of dollars below MSRP.

I've had my white 2016 Maxima Platinum for 3 weeks and have seen no others on the road, until last night. I parked near The Mission Inn in Riverside CA and as I exited my vehicle I realized I was parked right next to a black 2016 Maxima SL. Unfortunately my phone was out of juice else I would have snapped a photo.

Have seen 5 in the last week. They do not look nearly as radical as I first pictured them. Sporty, good looking car that does not stand out from the pack as much as I had thought.

This is not a Maxima sighting, but . . .

As my wife and I were pulling into Truett's Pizza in Fayetteville GA Monday, we parked beside a big shiny black Pontiac G8 sedan, which I remembered had been built by the Holden Corp in Australia for GM back in '08 and '09 (I drove Pontiacs from 1955 until 1966). We both noticed there were hidden lights and disguised antennas in and on the car.

As we were trying to figure out the situation, a big burly uniformed man exited Truetts and came to the Pontiac. He was the county sheriff, and he was equally interested in our shiny silver 2016 Maxima Platinum with black splash guards, black diffuser, black molding around the wheel wells, and the inside of the wheel wells completely blacked out with vinyl. He said he had not yet seen the new Maxima close up. I asked him about his big Pontiac G8, and he said it was an undercover Sheriff's Department car, and had a V8 engine with 402 HP.

The situation was a little ironic in that my wife and I had voted to reelect him county sheriff again in early voting Friday.

funny no one has mentioned what I consider to be an oversight on an otherwise perfect exterior, that is the chrome door handles...I was thinking of wrapping them black, YMMV.
cheers,
willie

While I admire how some of you have the tenacity to cover up your chrome, I for one love the car as it is! I still don't get the black wheel look because it makes the wheels (not Rims) kind of fade away. I love the visual contrast of chrome against black tires. .With an open mind the blacked out rides you guys have shared do have a mysterious "stealth" look. The strength of this design allow plenty of "room" for all these contrasting looks.

One quick question, Has anyone removed the wrap without paint damage?
