Is it just me or is there no promotion of this vehicle? I am totally sold on purchasing the car (and I will this week), but checking on line availability dealers seem to have the same inventory they have had since launch. I have not seen one ad on television since the Super Bowl. What's up?

I've seen this commercial on tv a few times already around here...and also at the theater last week while waiting for the movie to start.
I've know of at least 6 to 10 Maximas have left my local dealerships since mid June. I keep looking at inventory every week...and also place them on my "saved" list on their local webpages. I get alerts when those I have saved have been sold or transferred...or when pricing changes.

Funny you just posted this, I just got out of a movie and they played one of the new commercials before it. So there is some advertising.

Me too. Was shown right before Jurassic World this past Friday.

I have seen just the one posted here, although the new Maxima is one of the middle background cars in a Nissan ad that I have seen a hundred times in the last six weeks.

I think the fact Nissan has seemingly put a temporary halt in selling, releasing, or even test-driving the 2016 Maxima in several states from California to Massachussetts may be one reason Nissan is holding back on their Maxima ads.

By football season, I expect to see enough Maxima ads to cause me to reach for the MUTE button.

Here's the latest Maxima commercial featuring a gunmetal SR. For you dog lovers.

And of course the famous super bowl spot that has 23 million views on YouTube.

I can't say for sure how many my dealer has sold. I was in the dealership on 6/23, and as of that date, my salesman had delivered two - and he thought 8-10 for the dealership. Soon after, they were up to 18 in inventory, according to the nissanusa website. Since then, they are now down to 10. By the way, they have heard nothing of stopping sales.

That 'sales stoppage'/ 'what sales stoppage?' situation is perplexing to me. Logical or not, Nissan at least usually has most dealers on the same page. For instance, to my knowledge, all dealers correctly observed the first day Maxima sales were permitted on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th generation releases. Something as serious as a sales stoppage would seem more important than observing the correct first sales date.

I stopped by Gardena Nissan this eve to pick up a part for my nieces Xterra and for sure there is a stop sale on the car, my parts guy said affirmative!

Well, I was all set to pull the trigger this morning, but now I will wait. The confusing thing to me is that if it is a CVT issue, I would think that they would come right out with a statement. Why risk safety?

I think we will all know what is happening this coming Monday. Nissan has always played their cards close to the vest. My guess is that this is not a true safety issue, but some other situation that is not acceptable. If it were clearly safety, cars would be pulled off the road immediately.

Of course, for all I know, it may be that Nissan is indeed pulling the new Maximas off the road in a very quiet way, with no national press involvement. I think we will know everything Monday.

As mentioned on another thread, I am going for a test drive this afternoon. I will ask about this announcement and post the results.

Took a test drive today. Asked about the issue. Salesman was aware there would be an announcement on Monday, but did not know specifics about the issue. We agreed on numbers for the vehicle that I wanted, but also agreed to wait until the announcement was made before moving forward.
