Yes, of course... It'll probably be a week or two; they quoted 5 days for the part, then I've got to get it into the shop. Should have the info once complete.

Good news for me. The part was installed today. I compared invoices to the previous module replacement, and the suffix character has changed from A to B, consistent with a change in the part. WarEagle92 did have the later part number on his invoice as well.

Fingers crossed that they've properly redesigned the module to be more robust. New part number is 28565-4RA0B, "Control Assy Power Seat" (was 4RA0A the first time around).

How has it been going? Seats still remember?

I hate to jinx it, but... yes. So far, so good, no issues.

I just had the new Memory Control Unit installed this morning. Part number 28565-4RA0B. They thought they would have to remove the seat and that it would take two hours, but they didn't and it took less than 30 minutes. We'll see how it goes...

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I wanted to express my thanks to all of you for documenting this problem so well. I was able to use print-outs from this thread to prove to my dealership that this was a problem. They seemed to think I was crazy otherwise.

Particular thanks to Wareagle92 and tomwideman for posting your invoices with the part number. Showing these to the dealership is what finally helped me get this over the finish line.

They installed part # 28565-4RA0B for me a couple of weeks ago, and this is the longest my seat memory has worked since I bought the car. Previously, it never lasted more than about 3 days.

They had a very hard time finding the part number in their system for some reason, but finally did.

So thanks to you all - and to anyone out there still having this problem, I'd highly recommend pressing your dealership to get this part replaced to take care of the problem!

Glad it's worked out! Wareagle92 was the original source of the new part number, and that's been the secret. I'm happy to report (with fingers crossed) that so far I have had no issues since the B model was installed.

Still trying

I have given up trying to convince my dealer that a problem exists and opened a case with Nissan. I'll be drawing upon everyone's experiences.

Smile 4th may be the Charm

I started this post and after the 4th replacement, and insisting on the part number with the letter B, mine has been working for over 2 months.

To make sure it really works the car needs to be in park.

I'm battling with a dealer over this now.

Park or not, it doesn't work.

The key link system is enabled and I have only been using the same key, the other one is always in the house. The dash does display the correct key being used.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yea got my maxima in Feb SR and I experienced the same exact problem from day one, took it back to the dealer and they replaced the memory and it's been working fine for months now.

Memory Seats Losing Memory in 2016 Maxima

We are having the same issue with our seats continuously losing memory. The dealership acts like this is the first they have heard of it and we have had it in 4 times, going on the 5th if the dealership and Nissan will ever get back with me. Seems like they like to use the ignore the customer and maybe they will go away. What are our options?

Go corporate

This issue was resolved for me only after contacting corporate. It appears that the local dealer is only allowed to work on issues after getting corporate authorization. The people we talk to are much more accommodating than the people that the dealer talks with. I suggest calling the 800 number and get them to resolve the issue. I even mentioned that I knew of the issue because of the forum.

Memory Seats Losing Memory in 2016 Maxima

We have had our car for over a year and the dealer still hasn't been able to fix our memory seats. Any ideas on other alternatives?

Dano, I opened a case after your post and Nissan is taking the dealer side of saying "they can not replicate" even though I take the car back in with no memory. Nissan says to try another dealer. Please provide more info on how Nissan solved the issue for you.

There were very few mechanical changes made between the 2016 and 2017 Maxima models, so I would guess this problem simply carried over from 2016 to 2017.

Looks like this has been going on for a number of generations. If you unfortunately get a lemon like I have the dealers and Nissan don't seem to care about taking care of the problem. Good luck.

I have a 2017 SL version with the same problem.
Dealer tells me that this option is only available on the Platinum version... so why is the function listed is the vehicle settings?

Anybody can confirm that this key link option works on the Maxima SL 2017 ??

The key link feature exists on other trims but only the platinum includes seat/steering wheel positioning.

Thanks for the pertinent info. Even my dealer could not answer me this well.

Regards ;-)

Finally fixed

Took the car car to another dealer and they did listen the first time and replaced a part then the second time they replaced 28565-4RA0B as stated here. Now all works fine.

OK anyone experience this? I called Nissan Customer Service. They told me that my car has never had an official diagnosis on this problem and I would have to take it in again (would be the 4th time). An "official diagnosis" may incur a fee and it was up to the dealership if this is covered under the warrantee???? Anyone else get the same message?

The original part was defective.

The original part was defective. Had mine replaced 3 times. Had found in the thread the specific part they needed which only had a letter difference from the one that came with the car. My dealer listened to me, test the electrical circuit of the switch and found it to be broken. He ordered the part I asked for and has work since then.

Does one have to have the seat switch selection on the door to know if seat positioning is actually on the car? If you don't have the switches, can this "B" part enable seat positioning just on the key link?
