Does the 8th gen have ETC?

I've read the 7th gen has an ETC that doesn't allow full throttle under 30 mph and over 80 mph. Is this a "Feature" the 8th gen has as well??

I am curious as well. I do like to stab it from the line to jump pokey traffic. If it exists...*sigh*.....

I commented on it in the either thread. In regards to jumping pokey traffic, I briefly lose traction if I stomp it from a stop with the traction control off. So if it is there, it isn't slowing the car down any more than the traction control. Now if you wanted to run drag radials or something on the front, at the track, it "might" slow you down a little.

Yeah I think the easiest way for me to judge it figure out how to get a test drive in one.

I will say for the Ford version of slush box it does have its limiting features too. But it gets scary sometimes because you mash it to squirt through traffic and it can hesitate and even pause to think "what do you want me to do?". I have had to bale out on a squirt move several time because that pause/lag will leave me without acceleration in the middle of a move that can make one tense and pucker a bit.

Yup, I hate that. This CVT doesn't have that issue, the RPMs (especially in sport mode) jump immediately. The only lag that is there is when the transmission is having to transfer the power to the wheels. It's brief and always consistent, it can be eliminated in "manual" mode but honestly it's never been enough lag for it to bother me. The only issue I've had in the first couple weeks of ownership is that it accelerates faster than I think it's going to lol
