7th Gen vs 8th Gen questions

For those of us who have gone from 7th to 8th (I'm sure there are quite a few here):

Which little things that you didn't like have been addressed? Which have not?

What has blown you away?

What are your overall impressions relative to the 7th Gen?

I'm going to do it, but my lease isn't up until March next year, even with pull ahead I'm in this car (that I love) until the end of this year.

Where do I begin !

The overall ride and handling of the 7th is no match for the 8th.
8th is light years ahead. Now I was concerned that the Electric Power Assit
steering would be to light verse the hydralic Power Assit on the 7th. Yes there
is some difference but its not that bad and if you place the 8th is sport mode
it changes everthing and steering then is even better then the 7th. The 8th goes into
and out of turns with much less body roll. You ask what i didn't like on the 7th.
I truely can't answer that. I am of the few who like the CVT so for me they could have
left that alone and not added the fake shifts to the 8th gen. I truley think the interior
of the new 8th Plat is outstanding. I have had so many friends tell me its one of the best they have seen. Everything seems to be layed out nicely. Are ther soe things need to bed improved upon yes. The infotainment system needs to work with more apps. They need to add Apple Air. Nothing that makes me sorry I bought this car.
The other more important thing is the 8th does get much better gas milage. For instance a resent 150 mile trip I get 31mpg.
As far as you have to wait another year dont let that concer you enjoy the remain time
you have on your 7th lease and by the time you are ready the lease's will be better then today. Also they may make some small updates to the car.

I test drove the 2016 and will buy it, its ahead tech wise and drives a little more sporty but i do love the full size car feel of the 7th gen. the ONE thing I didnt like about the 8th gen is the roof height and the visibility- it feels like a sports car to me (which is great in the end) but i did like getting back into my 7th gen. Made me hold on for another 6-8 months, and now I'm back shopping again. Only have 33k on my 7th, so I'm a little tense about the trade value which could throw the deal off.

I have tried twice to list the improvements the 8th gen has made over the 7th gen, but, each time, when I tried to post the list, I found maxima.org had logged me off. So I can't list things, but I will say many switches and controls were moved with the 8th gen, and I like the new locations better in every case.

Even little things, such as the intermittent door stops that allow us to have the doors stay partially open as we enter/exit in close quarters, or load/unload, etc, work well on the 8th gen. They were much too weak on the 7th gen. This is important, as the 8th gen doors are thicker and heavier (better side crash protection).

We gave our 7th gen to the daughter, so still have both. Both great vehicles. 8th is very very nice. Ride is better, quality if great, wife loves the remote start, I love all the auto driver alert and collision warning. You can actually set the cruise control and the car will not get close to another in front of it. It will actually adjust the speed itself. Very cool. Blind spot alerts and the monitor actually shows you a picture of any hazards you may be close to. Alot of these are only on the Platium model though.
The 7th gen Juke Box feature we loved and the 8th doesnt have that though.

The jukebox was an early 7th gen feature. My '11 had it, the '14 doesn't.

I'll get the Platinum when the time comes, and add a few stand alones like splash guards etc.

Thanks everyone for the input, if anyone has anything else please add it!

The Music Box feature was a portion of hard drive space where you could store music ripped from CDs placed in the CD slot on the 7th Gen Max
