Rear Windows

Hi everyone. I just noticed that on the 2016 Maxima, the rear windows don't roll completely down. There's like two inches to an inch of glass left when the window is rolled down as far as it can go. Is this normal? Thanks.

There are a lot of cars like this. It is because of the shape of the rear door, in relationship to the rear wheel well. There is just not enough room to roll the window all the way down.

Richard nailed this. When we look at the exact shape and size of the window when it is all the way closed, then look at the bottom portion of the door where that window has to go when rolled down, it becomes clear there won't be enough room for the window to roll completely down. MOST sporty cars are like this. This also serves as sort of a safety thing when kids are in the back seat, as it is harder to fall out of a window that does not open all the way down.
