Door Guard

Anyone installed a door guard? I already have a small door ding dent and was wondering if anyone here has installed the door guard to prevent this from happening.

I've had them in a previous vehicle, but it did not help at all. I guess the passengers in the rear seats are aiming for my vehicles. But the rear door has a higher point of impact when opening, and that's the area that I normally see dings on my vehicles.

My door guard is parking away from parking lot congestion.

When I drive my beater, I park as close as possible. All my nice cars, I park far, far away for this very reason.

I have always made black hard rubber body side molding to fit my wife's trucks, but do not put these on the side of my Maxima because it messes up the styling. If I HAD to park where other cars would often be beside me, I would consider the color-coded side guards in that ad.

I 'cut-to-fit' black hard rubber molding and attach it around all four wheel wells on all my Maximas and all my wife's trucks. The wheel well edges are very vulnerable, especially if diagonally parked, like is common in small towns. If done carefully, the wheel well molding is not noticeable. Neither are the small mud flaps I cut to fit and mount behind all four tires. I do these things for practicality, not show. Same for window vent guards.
