Guys,


What was the mileage on the odometer when you changed your oil for the first time? My father always told me that I should change it at 1000 miles because the engine is breaking in and don't want metal shavings floating in the oil. I don't see anything in the owners manual about the first oil change. Is this method not relevant in today's motors? Please advise.

I might do 5000 the first time and then 7200 then after,

I went by the owners manual and did my first at 5K miles, I think you dad is still stuck in the 70s lol!

i guess i have the mentality of an old man as well. lol
did mine around 2500. then next one after 5k, myself.
following changes, i might go anytime between 5k and 7.5k.
but that is for me.

You have a 60K mile warranty on the engine. Do it by the book and there will be no questions asked if warranty work is required, that is why for the first 60K on my car the dealership does all the maintenance.
