Spoiler from spoiler king
Just installed mine today. It's actually a big piece of rubber that needs to be painted with flex paint and bent to be installed. Was a pain. I'll post some pics tomorrow after I take the tape holing it in place off. I like it better then oem. But hate the paint job the shop did so now that it has paint on it will get it wrapped in gloss black.
I would also recommend cleaning the area really well, scuffing the clear coat with a scotch guard pad and using 3m adhision promoter. Will help it form a strong bond so it won't fly off on the highway. Here is the link for the adhision promoter. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004TG...WvL&ref=plSrch
I ordered directly from spoiler and wing king. Mine is fiber glass and painted. Ten dollars cheaper than amazon. Looks like high quality. I will post a pic when I get a chance. I have to put it on this weekend.
Did you need to drill holes? (it says so on the item on Amazon) Ive been wanting to pick it up.
Normaly they arent prewired but you can buy the 3rd light delete for behind the backglass if you dont want a 4th light from Nissan but it isnt always cheap
Are you saying that you did not drill holes on the trunk lid? You used the adhesion promoter and 3M tape and have no issues? I would be interested in this option. How has the wing held up since install?
I just installed a spoiler from Spoiler King on my Forged Bronze SR. Its the same one that comes on the SR model. Fit great, perfect finish. Color is almost identical to factory and the average Joe won't notice. Since I have done lots of paint work I did notice a slight difference in the metallic size but that's all. You do have to drill 4 holes to mount it and one for the wires. I wired mine to the drivers tail light as it was easier to access than the factory 3rd brake light.
I installed a generic one off ebay. Looks like the wing king one pictured above. Color match was excellent and installation was similar to ones Ive done before. Mine came with 4 plastic guiding strips for hole line up and drilling. Needed 5 so I made flat one out of card stock. I always surround the hole electrical tape as an added measure to reduce damaging the surrounding area before drilling. Once all holes are drilled (5), I used touch up paint and clear nail polish to reduce any rusting. For wiring I clipped the led connector that is normally used for the oem spoiler and connected the blue to the red and gray to the black wires. Beware, the nuts on either end of the wing are always a pain in the you know what to get in. You may have to drill 2 larger holes if you have difficulty using your hands or rachet. I alway have a 1" metal drill bit handy just in case I need an opening. If you get any random metal bits stuck in between the lid, cover the bottom holes with tape leaving one of the larger ones open. Take a vacuum and suck out any metal flakes from drilling. Do the same to the other side.

The generic spoiler comes with two bare wires you have to connect. I cut the wires from the led connector that was connected to the interface in the picture. If you buy an oem spoiler there is no cutting as both connectors would fit together as intended. The wiring is the easiest part. Drilling and getting the corner bolts are what takes time.

Pre Wired for Spoiler
Hey Chris, I too have an SL and it DOES have the Brake wire ready for spoiler.
I took the trunk liner off to check because I will be installing a spoiler a soon as I decide if I want to buy OEM for $308 OR Ebay aftermarket for $100 or so
Christopher Stark;9111967]Guys does the '16 SL come with the wiring already under the trunk hood to be able to have both rear window AND spoiler light on at same time?[/QUOTE]
